This actually happened some years back.........I wont say where but some of you might know of this series of things that happened............most plane crashes.....and in most tragedys there is a series of events that occur ending in the final results...............what would you do if you were involved in this situation.........your on a road.....mountains in the area.......theres a tunnel ahead............the tunnel is lets say 10 miles long cutting through the mountain.......you enter............. this tunnel goes down hundreds of feet,then heads back upwards........you happen to drive in and half way down there is a large 18 wheeler that caught fire,,now some cars are catching fire.......you cant back up.........you get out of the vehicle..........which way do you run for safety........up towards the opening ,which is far,far away..............or downwards?

Ummmmmmmm I wud grab all my remaining banannas and go down down down so the smoke cudnt suffakate me n cause my banannas to spoil.

That's interesting. Lot of mitigating factors here, that are not really explained. For instance...MY location in the tunnel.
First off, it would depend on how "deep" I was in the tunnel.

If you're in the "middle" of the tunnel, and it's basically the same distance each way to get out...Forward or backward...hummmm....as poot would say.

If the wreck happened in the middle of the 10 mile tunnel..."Warm air rises"...both ways.

When it happened , the few survivors from near fire went up the tunnel .

I saw this on a documentry............on one of those cable channels........it happened in europe,if Im not mistaken it went under a pass or something............maybe the alps area........swiss alps,french alps......somewhere in that vicinity...........could been on that show(it could happen) well this did happen...............and the wrong decision killed many..............one guy kept his composure and another two relied on his wisdom,,,,,,,they my friend didnt parish..............on this one everything that could go wrong did go wrong,many things didnt work when needed the most.............I will try to get that movie,or video if I can.......may be on you tube somewhere...........it was really interesting.........like the Concorde crash.......a series of events led up to the final conclusion.

You made your decision.....well if I was there Id most likely would have went up also........in all that confusion............trying to survive....in a hurry to get the heck out of there.............when the 18 wheeler caught fire,the diesel would catch fire too........right......spead to other vehicles,diesel,gas,rubber,car seats,you name it........now the smoke is very toxic.........filled with carbon monoxide..........the guy that kept his conposure, and a couple of other people lived cause they traveled downwards...........while the smoke went upwards.........people that were around that area deep in the tunnel had no chance of out-running the toxic cloud..............sad ending but it looks like we would have all died.............leaving Poot as the only guy in here to live....................hell of a deal...........

..........yes.by the way ..between 80 and 100 people died trying to out run the smoke,,,,,,and trying to get out of that tunnel.
