Seems easy when your getting paid to do nothing......storms can be a linemans worst nightmare or a linemans worst boring friend..........example......the day I arrived in Flordia......they rushed 6 large crews from the Miami area to Sarosota.......alligator alley was even boring.......well upon arriving we found a school parking lot .......were we sat..................sat.........and sat..........only 1 crew was used...........and that crew pulled what must have been a small limb from the primary...............the storm was barly a hurricane.............after that we sat again for hours....................................wonder what premium the contractor charged...........sitting around just gets me restless even if it pays well.............some guys love going out of town............they know what Im talking about.

Ummmmmmmmm those utilities aint as dum as ya mite think. while yer travelin down the road inna convoy its PR for them, Lettin everbody know they are ahead of things n have lottsa help ona way. N when yer sittin in a publik parkin lot it allows for people to feel more secure that help is only moments away. lil do they know that lottsa times nobody frum the hostin company even knows where ya are.
Ive spent a few days doin nuffin while I am in mergency mode. I've also been the guy who directed the outside help, N once the GF says he is here n ready its up to that guy to keep em busy.

Sitting or standing around is boring and makes the day drag. I'd much rather work.

this is why when your up to your butt in alligators working your tail off you should rember there will come a day you have little to do and getting the same pay. Don't b***h just remember you'll give more than you think you'll get and get more than you'll give but it's a wash. . . .

That's the frist time I used a foul word in a while and the program ***** fixed it for me. cool. . . .

The most I ever sat waiting for a storm to roll in was 2 days, drove me completely batty, especially sitting in a motel in a small town on the east coast with very little entertainment.

Ummmmmmm actually They were excellant help. I only had one problem with a GF from pike elect. He removed a set of grounds that i had him to install without saying anything to me ....... When i found out I went ballistic. I bleve he left early.
I had a purdy good laff at a Crew from up north, Cant remember the name, Anyways there was a 3 phase fused tap running through an alley for quite a way and at just about every pole there was a problem I started them off on that tap and the gf asked me what I needed next n that they would have that finished by mid day I chuckled n told him Ummmmm I dont think so but he assured me they were go getters and it would be done. Anyways it took em 2 1/2 days on that tap.
