hard hat style

hey guys just wondering if it is the same in linework as it is in ironwork. Do you guys have "cool hard hats" or a special kind that you were in ironwork all the "cool" hard hats are vintage bullards let me know by the way im on the west coast don know if that matters

Don't know about "cool" hard hats. New shiny hard hats will get you picked on a bit I've learned.

We are supplied our hats so I have no choice. Something Hydro One does is they have all of there apprentices wearing green hard hats so you always know who they are.

ummmmmm yeah back in the day it was mandatory for all first year apps to wear a yellow hard hat

Yeah, Hydro one started that about 5 years ago, yellow for apprentices and green for students. I tried to get the foreman to get me and my bucket partner a green hard hat to wear in the bucket while doing a hot line job when the supervisor or area manager was around, just for the laugh. Chicken foreman wouldn't let me do it.

Sometimes LA............I even wore a football helmet one year...............had two oil derriks on both sides.......Houston Oliers.:D

It depends on the company your with. We've got 2 types of yellow helmets one with a peek one without. Full linesmen are yellow aprentices and others are blue. "Helps pick them out from a height. Helps ya aim stuff at them. :)

I don't think that's Bren? I thought you guys might have been issued with the Petzl climbing style hats to make sure they stayed on better. My standard hard hat falls off all the time, even when I use the crappy little chin-band. (Which is NOT beard compatible.)

our guys wore white hard hats...........99.9 percent...........1 big fella wore orange............always orange.......why,cause he was a die -hard Texas Longhorn football player and fan.
