First of all everyone just passes through those low scale states like Texas. I guess that is why you see quite a few 66 hands on the road, it says a lot about the wages and benefits. About ten years ago I worked there for 769’s scale which was around $15 above the scale there, so they are offering to pay 702’s scale to lure lineman in to do this job. As soon as the steel gets in from India there is 75 miles of double circuit lattice towers to build by Thanksgiving. It is starting out at 7/12s and will be bumped up to 7/14s.
The big draw back of the job is, Black & Veatch is the general contractor and they are in the same class as Bechtel or Brown & Root, really wormy or king rat!
I do realize this is transmission work but just trying to get closer to family and friends for a while. Thanks to all for the help. I will say dont wait for Douglas Contracting they must just be a slave trader or something along those lines.::rolleyes:

You know any more about this job?
I have left several messages for douglas contracting and no return call. After some more research it seems douglas contracting is trying to import labor from other countries by passing themselves off as a utility company. If anyone knows anything about them please post it, they are from Oregon.
