Its strange how there are some areas or one certain pole that gets torn down almost all the time.............Ive found that it usually will happen around a curve...........its like somone tells you a pole is down and even before you arrive you can about tell which pole it is...................We had one of those cca poles right off the ramp of a freeway go down one night ..replaced it and the next night it was torn down again............seems some are like magnets for cars......................almost all areas have what they call a deads-mans curve...............and that name usually fits the road.

We tryed to move it across the road but after miss dig got done marking it up we decided it was a bad move.

We had one of those fancy decorative Watley street lights on the holland bridge approach that would get hit every winter so we stated taking it down ever fall and put it back up every spring.

we have a couple that the snow plows take out yearly and one switch cube that seems to attract cars in the winter.

Suggest they get changed to a thick steel pole, and from now on the poles will stand tough instead of coming down when they are hit. ??? .

We had one pole that was leaning really bad..............55feet corner pole.......framed verticle......3/0......19.9..........I must have went on that trouble call 6 or 7 times.........other lineman went on it several times............it got to the point where I stopped writing a follow up needed tickets on it.......we sometimes would talk about it after work while having a few beers.........years later it finally hit the ground........well actually it landed on some apartments..........caught the complex on fire.........it was caught up in the courts, because nothing was ever done with it..............guess what happened to all the paperwork and tickets we all wrote on it.................if you do guess that.........let me know..........because the company stated that they never heard of that pole being in any danger...........it happens.

It was snowing cats and dogs and we had accidents all over town.

It just had a 4800 phase, low voltage and fiber optic on it and the kid in the car was in a panic trying to get out of there as I blocked him in with the bucket truck.

Hes said. "cool dude are you going to pull me out?"

Me. "Yep just as soon as we get a police report.:D"

He didn't look to happy?
