I've had this conversation over the years with a few of you here. And many of you have given some good answers either as to why you come and why you keep coming back. So, I wanted to ask you, the members of this site, what you think.
What is Powerlineman.com all about? How do you perceive this site? What are some of the benefits you see for having this site?

I come on to pml to see what's happening to linesmen. Like seeing what way others do the same type of work.
And at the end of the day its just wires supported by structures. AMAZING that there is so many ways to transport electricity around from A to B......
And I enjoy the "craic".

Ummmmmm for me its a way to stay in touch with new technology, new and improved equipment, learn how other folks do things in different areas , climates, and materials. Plus its not an uncommon thing to learn that things work differently elsewhere. The stumbling blocks handed us in the form of safety rules. Also to find those rules differ significantly from one place to the next. And to rub shoulders with other lineman.Maybe even help out a newbie.or learn the latest greatest new theory bequeathed to us by engineers. And some days just a place to eat my bananna in peace n quite.

And Im here for you, thats why I like it..........I keep people like Poot busy,Im what you would call his can of WD-40 on the computer, keeping him going,I know the feeling too well not being in touch with lineman on a reg ,daily basis,it just what lineman like to do,talk, some trash, teach, see how others do things.Watch as others are facing a situation that I may have already faced.Learn about their fellow workers and the attitudes they have about the trade, its mostly what Ive seen here also.See what direction the trade is going in.Basically its like a family, like the places ive worked, there is even that one person that goes to extremes to break the unit up.which happens too.Meeting other guys from far away like Bren and Clive, that are half way around the world.Helping the new guys find a path or a door way to get his career started.I often work outside in the yard and it serves as a good break, often Ill look at the jobs that are posted and see if something sweet is involved............its just one of those deals where you realize the quote ONCE A LINEMAN,ALWAYS A LINEMAN is quite true.

I enjoy the way most of the people on this site look at work and the rest of their lives. I enjoy hearing about the varied work linemen get involved in. I appreciate the dedication folks have to their trade.

I've met him, I'd love to hunt with them. But my only relationship is that they have some of my money. I've bought a couple of their calls.
