Can you remember about what was your longest distance that you had to walk to get to a pole, cause you couldnt get a vehicle to where the work was,it takes a considerable amount of time, because your making the first walk locating the problem, then returning to get your equipment,& hooks and making the walk again.....bad enough during the day time, but at night deep into the woods,it doesnt come as a surprise if you get turned around, and if the terrain is hilly thats even better...........been to a few that had to be close to two miles away.

i can remember one about 20 years ago when i was a helper, we had a long line that went cross country, and the lineman decided to walk it out and told me to pick him up 3 county roads over, well i sat there about a couple hours waiting for him, what had happened is about half way the line split and went a different direction, he went that way and i went the other way, this was before cell phones, so he had to walk up to a house @ 2 in the morning and ask to use the phone to call dispatch, they finally called me and i had to go around and pick him up at a different location. talk about scary, was not a good felling.

And here I am wishing that I could go see West Virginia, and the hills...........I do know of places where its like a forest, and the trees are so thick that you cant see the primary you need to pick up in the day time.........so at night its triple times worse.
