Sometimes when it is advertised that FP&L is hiring ,its actually a contractor that needs the hands, just be warned and dont get your hopes up too much.........I went down that road before and actually it wasnt that bad, learned alot and seen things that i didnt see locally, met lots of good people and maybe should have stayed.Weather it be the Utility or a contractor ,its work, and there will be plenty of time to talk to others about getting on with the utility. One thing I will always remember about them is that I saw them drive way more than I saw them working..........not saying that they didnt work..but there was a swarm of contractors even though there were no major storms at that time.........in S.Flordia it can rain 3 times in one day for days on end.....welcome to the tropics.

Ummmmmmmmmm Ive seen FPL hands respond to storms round here. They come fully equipped with Air conditioned Living quarters, Caterers, Showers,Mechanics and spare parts. When them boys roll they take everthing wif em. I saw em replace a transmission on a dern near brand new Bucket truck and they had brung the thing with em Just In case. Just the amount of preparedness and the spare parts alone told me them guys is usta werkin some major storms.

Ummmmmmmmmm prolly not as I am partial to Makers Mark and Jim Beam. But They did have airconditioned tents and trailers with showers and their mechanic guys used our garage to make that transmission change while the crew was sleepin in the lap of luxury while the rest of us sweated all nite long.

I hate to laugh but that is kind of funny Poot, kind of like having the Royal Family coming over for a visit ,huh..........been in places like that, and then some...I have never seen a FP&L vehicle with dents or never even seen one that was dirty....I do have a good imagination but honestly I am telling you the truth.
