Sunny day up here today. Changed this angle secttion. We change the glass for polys add the hooks. Then we join with a sling, the extra length of th slings reduce the tension significantly. Lower the wires into the angle. Drop the pole with a chansaw. . Dig out the old pole. Stick the new structure up. Put in two new guys (stays) pulled the wires back up . Landed them and then re jumperd them. Easy ... Finished in 4 hours start to finish.

That's why we get the big bucks swampy... :)
We take old rotten poles and replace them with shiney new ones...
Proud that they will still be up. When I'm 6 ft under... :) pics of old pole and new one just up. We attach 4 ropes to the new pole because when the digger lifts it into place we tie it off so we can remove the slings . Other wise he can't fill it in. Can't hold it and fill it in. The ropes aren't in line with the pole the four ropes are off set so we can plumb the poles backwards fwds and sideways.

Just a short question for ya,do you guys always install your grounds that close to the work area, and I noticed they are the spider type of grounds that we threw away years ago,now we only use the single types.

We put them there outta the bucket. They are our "local grounds" we gotta take them off every evening. And most of the adhacent poles are rotten. So we put them out as far as the bucket reaches from the pole we are working on. And they are the only type of drains we've got.
