Is The OCB OPENED

While switching an overhead circuit has anyone ever went to the substation and opened a switch that was actually energized when the ocb should have been open,and if so what went wrong when it happened.....was it a human error or a malfunction in the system/computers? I cant remember it ever happening but Im sure it has.

Ummmmmm anytime we open an OCB we also open the line and load side disconnects with it. Before doing that you must first check the indicator on the OCB to actually be open. If it wasnt I dont bleve you would ever get the first blade open.

A very simple way would be to take a load check with an ammeter, might just save a pair of shorts!!!
