All these were taken in my yard this morning. I'm an early bird most days and these are the times I enjoy my back porch with a cup of coffee. :D I'm trying to train myself to take good pics! I suwannee this shouldn't be this hard! :D
There is one pic of one of my friends. I didn't realize what show offs they are. The were all wanting to get in on the picture taking. I took many of my flying friends, but they are quick! And one turned out pretty good perched in my redbud tree.
If you have pics of your yard, please feel free to share!

Yes nice place you have there, looks like your favorite color might be purple......I was just watering my plants, roses and all.......let me tell you whats been happening lately, kind of strange but just nature taking its course............about three weeks ago I Found a dead sparrow in my back yard, this one was close to the birdfeeder and it had a head wound......thinking to myself it pointed to the bird feeder itself.....its the kind that when a large bird lands on the perch, the compartment where the seed is located closes.....so I thought the smaller bird had its head inside while another big bird landed and broke the smaller birds neck.....the next day the same thing happens...over a weeks time there might have been 3 more....looking closer, some of the sparrows were missing there head....dam,no jeffery damer in this neighborhood....this now is pointing to something else.......one day I found 3 dead sparrows,it continued.....now I realize its has to be a hawk, thought about shooting him but there is a large fine for that........did some researching and learned that the best way to get rid of the hawk was to stop feeding the birds for about two weeks, that will make the hawk go some other place to get his easy prey....so I might take that route......for you bird lovers like me.....they say the birds wont starve, they say on a regular day.....seen amounts to just a fraction of what the bird actually eats.......wanna hear my squirrel story...lol....im about 2 feet away from having this one squirrel eating out of my hands.....wanna hear my bumble bee story?.....na you wouldnt believe it anyway.:D

Reppy, I don't feed my birds. Some I don't even know what kind they are! I do have a hummingbird feeder, but that is it.
If you tell the stories, I want pics to go with it Reppy! :D
Here is another pic of the same bird.

Don't tell him I told you this, but the Boss does all the watering. I think it's relaxing to him. The only problem with it, is sometimes he tends to overwater. :D

LostArt......seems like your taking up some lineman habits......giving the Boss the short end of the stick..........these days when watering by hand.....you spend half of that time trying to get the kinks out of the waterhose.....even when they advertise that its non-kink hose..........pretty bad when waterhoses are not built better than the old ones were.

I agree about the water hoses reppy!
Here are some pics of what our Building Construction classes make. I asked for these to be built and I thought they did a fantastic job. They are heavy though. They should last a long time! :D
Also, the pics of the vine is a morning glory. It will get most of the sun during the day. I can't wait to see what color it is. The morning glory was given to me by the Ag class. They brought them up to the office to me and said the teacher said I could have them if I guessed what it was. I said, "Ummm......a climbing vine. Is it a morning glory?" They both said they didn't know. I laughed and said, "She didn't tell you the answer!?" They said they were to give it to me anyway. :D
I also purchased cherry tomatos, zinias, and marigolds from their greenhouse. They are doing so well with it! I'm very proud of our teachers, staff, and students. It's great to be working in Mayberry! Can't beat smalltown living! :D And that includes smalltown schools!

Mom says you need to cut them after they bloom. Maybe it's different up there and they will bloom anyway. I hope so. Mine didn't bloom because I moved them before spring and messed them up. They were in the back and getting too much sun. I had to move them to the front. Should have done it in the fall but didn't. Another plant I really need to read up on. Mine are in pots now too. Might of made another big difference. They were double shocked. :D

We have a Clematis and it grows like a weed but no flowers. It should have purple flowers all over it by now and it's just one big leafy plant. . .up to the sofits!
LA or Lood, do ya got any ideas?

Hey T! Ummm.......I bet it has to have sun. Lots of sun. Is it in the sun most of the day?
Okay, I found this about prunning it.

It does say if they aren't cut at the right time it might be another season before they bloom. And they like moist soil and they did say to keep it moist with some ground cover.
Take a pic of it T so we can see it.

T, I don't think it's time for it to bloom yet. Isn't it still kinda cool up there?

My guess is that it's getting too much nitrogen and not enough phosphourus and potasium. Lot's of leaves without fruit or flowers is kind of a sign of that.

I'll get a picture later today. It sits up against the house on the west side so from noon on it takes all the sun it can get. I mulched the base to keep it cooler and damp at the roots and just gave it a dose of bloom booster so we'll see. I wanted to prun it but I better wait now. Usually it's not this warm this early. The farmers are working the second crop of hay right now. They will get four good crops this year for sure.

Thanks for posting those LA. I couldn't get them to load? The bigger bush on the corner is a Lilac, and the little ones on each side, I have no idea, I didn't plant them, they get pretty raggedy if you don't trim them. I'll get the name next time I'm at the garden store.

I hope you can get the clematis to bloom T. It looks healthy, that's for sure. Ask next time you are in the garden store about the blooming of the clematis. In the meanwhile, I would do what DH said to do.

That does not look like a Clematis to me. The leaves look wrong and that looks like a shrub, not a vine. I'll look closer at the images.

Lood and Duck, you two got me thinking. . . Not being a greenthumb and just watering what my wife says WATER! I never paided too much attention to the leaves on that Clematis. So today I went out there and took a good look and you are right. The Clematis has one purple flower and the leaves associated with it were long and pointed, the thing that took over the side of the house is not a Clematis. It's big and green but closer to a tree or weed than what we wanted there. I been watering something I shouldn't. Man I feel dumb, but who knows how big that thing would have gotten if I didn't post a picture for you to help me figure this out?
The poor Clematis is being overwhelmed by the weed I been pruning! DOH!
Man you guys are good. . thanks
Honey where's my pruner. . .LOL

So, in this growing weed somewhere is your clematis? I noticed that this vine had stickers with it, or looked like it. But, since searching about clematis I found out they had over 200 varieties. And some have different leaves on them.
So, where is the clematis in this vine?

What little there is, is clinging to the wire lattus. If you look real hard on the left side of the lattus near the bottom quarter you can see the first bit of wire going up, there you can see a pointed leaf and the little viney wraps the plant uses to cling on to the lattus. This big green thing has a stem that looks like a tree trunk and thorns all over it. Dang! I thought I was helping that thing out and it was mooching off me!
It don't look half bad but it's too close to the house for it to stay there. I've seen scrub brush growing next to the meter set on some old homes and it really took over and caused damage, I can't have that. This thing has a trunk about 1 1/2 inches in diameter already. . .it's gotta go.
Live and learn I guess.

I know what you mean. Man, that is gonna be the devil to move with those thorns T! Glad it's you and not me! :D
