And we started with breakfast for them yesterday. Most local businesses give something during the week also. I think the principal is frying grouper this Friday. Some that he caught himself over the weekend. You have to remember we are small. Almost like Mayberry. :D

So, while this week is going on nationwide, how about posting about that particular teacher that inspired you when you were in school. I'll be back later with mine. I have to say there were a few that made an impact in my life. So, that will be a few stories for me. :D

Mrs. Larson was a Civics teacher. She just knew how to lead and inspire. Lynn taught for years and after retirement want on to work for the MEA. (Mich. teachers union) I"ve seen her often since high school at political events and School Board conferences. She was always glad that I became politically active. It didn't matter which side of an issue you were on with her, she always wanted people involved.

I went to a funeral last year, the guy that died was a principle,a black man that was 85 yrs old...if you listened close to him as a kid or an adult .....you would often hear him talking above anything else ....the word honor....I remembered him very well..cause the first time I met him was when I was in second grade......i met him cause I brought a knife to school/pulled /brought same thing....well he spanked little old reppy.....in the next three years he spanked me around 3 more times......didnt know this until last year ,but the old fella earned 2 purple hearts while serving in the Korean war....his casket was draped with an American flag....which made me proud of the guy........at his service I met a small group of teachers...we talked and I found out that one of them was still teaching..........wow.....she was teaching back in the 70s,and still going strong......you never know.
