what age was the youngest lead-lineman

I started out in 1983 as a helper,started out at one service center and volunteered to go to a newer one....I did some time on a linecrew and a big trouble truck...........on that large trouble crew we had a headlineman that had to be around 19 yrs of age,maybe even younger. Remembering back ,he was pretty bright and good to work for.....he was the type that always had good days off and I cant remember him ever being on nights.....eventually he made it to foreman and was later moved up to supervisor......but those days were different,and he was taken care of pretty well......guess it didnt hurt that he once played baseball on the supervisors team........anyway he was and still is a guy that is fair and treats others pretty well.....thats unless hes told to do other-wise.

So this 19 year old kid or mayge even youger was the head lineman without either graduating high school or in the second year of an apprenticeship if he graduated high school. I don't think so.

Good observation lewy,my mistake....i must say that you made me re-think a bit....ok when he was 19 he must have been an apprentice,cause he is a few years younger than I am....or was...we were both young.......but lets bring the age a notch or two upwards.....21 or 22...i know he started young and that was before I even got out of the army......sorry for misleading you guys.

Ummmmm the only 19 yr old " journeyman" I ever met worked for red simpson, I spect he musta beed an apprentice since he wuz 14.

are you pulling my leg Mr.Poot.........or are you serious.......there are some young ones.....even while going into the army i met just a few guys that were 17yrs old.......and yes you start out as a private/E-1:D
