We have had these threads before and while looking at ours, I don't think it's too bad. Our bill was $119.76. Our peak months usually are August, September and January.
So, how much was your light bill last month?

Good lawdalmighty BH! I need that faint smilie!
Right now ours is on 77. The only time I turn it up is if I've come straight in from working in the yard.
I guess DH is gonna win this one.

$89.
But I'm in a Muni and we get 10% off if we pay by the 15th of the month!
Better yet why not post how many kilowatts we are using and then compare who charges the most per kilowatt hour.

Good idea Loo.
Total KWH=970. Billing period was 29 days. KWHs Energy charge is @ 6.275. Fuel charge is 4.860. If any goes above 1000 KWH it is more. Ours didn't reach that. I guess that is the only cut rate we get(staying below 1000 KWs). :D

$123 here...I have met some people that are middle class and some have 500 to 600 light bills in the summer, usually cause they have poor insulation in their attics....they say that they will get new insulation, but never do......now I know a famous retired basketball player whos bill was $800 a month...I thought that was big until months later when I discovered a customer with a $4000 light bill.....that had to be a record until I met another customer that seemed to be proud that his was $5000 per month.....guess the electric business that he owned was doing great.

Right at $200.00, but there is always someone at the house 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and with 3 kids seems like the washer and dryer is running all the time,1650 KWH for the month, the only part that kind of whips me out is that 14.00 customer charge, they say that's for reading your meter and since I have 2 meters, 1 for the house and the other for my well and my barn, that's $28.00 off the top every month.

ummmmmmmmmmm n lewy is that in dollars or canadian muney? Mines been runnin just under 200 a munth but we are getting a rebate for all the overcharges from last year. It Aint uncommon to get one for 400 in the summer. I reckon we do needa use KWH to make a decent comparison.

Our dollar is almost at par with yours. My last bill I used a 1000 kwh over 64 days, they charged me just over $70.00 for delivery & other small fees the rest was for consumption & my bill was $140. I heat with gas & my hot water is gas.

I'm thinking I pay the most per kwh. Here's a copy of last months bill. Gotta love it.

We have had some hot weather, but seems like it's not as bad as those of you up yonder and over there. Ours reached $173 this past month. I've seen it over $200 in the summer months. Still have August and September to go.

Seems like it would go down a bit Poot, with all the rain and clouds that we have been getting lately, the a/c shouldnt be cycling as much.....On the water side, they charge more for the drainage fee than the water itself.Long time ago when HL& P was a company, they were always on the front page of the newspaper, seeking millions, like 550 million increases,a couple of months later it wasnt unusual to read that they wanted another 440 million....people hated the company,so they changed the name and de-reg kicked in....Now as Centerpoint energy they are doing the same things, but they are not the so called provider,so they are no longer on the front pages.....smart move? YES....after hurricane Ike came along they even got an increase.....saying that the normal work that had to be done was interrupted cause of the storm,so they asked and got 500 million or more for that one, even though there was many contractors in this area helping out.

OK,maybe it will be lower on the next bill, are you tired of the rain yet?I dont hear many people complaining about it,not after the drought we had last year.I guess its better to have alot ,then have none,,,but the mesquitoes are another story.......its called (OFF)

Ummmmmmmmm what I am tired of is that the rain causes the grass to grow by leaps and bounds . Couple that with the fact the ground is too soft to mow making mowing impossible and I have a regular hayfield growing . It dont help the fishing neither..... too much fresh water in Sabine lake

I know that feeling,I just mowed the lawn 4 days ago,now it needs mowing again.....I knew it was going to be a rainy 2 weeks ...didnt want to mow in the soft ground, but I said the hell with it and got it over with.....now having a goat or two isnt a bad idea, might need to borrow farmer Johnsons goat for a day or two.......Sabine lake??? How far from the lake are you anyway,I could use a catfish lunch about now........wonder what fish is the best for other lineman....I like all fish, but a catfish has that catfish taste.....no other fish taste quite like one.:D

The mesquitoes are bad here. The water is still standing in many places around Live Oak. I went to get my mother-in-law last weekend for a few days away. I got out of my car and was met by those things. Horrible. The were big and very many! When I took her back on Sunday, I took my OFF, sprayed me and the car inside and out. It helped alot.
We don't have many here. We are dry. Not as dry as a few months ago, but still dry. My mother-in-law says they still have afternoon showers there. We haven't had any since last week sometime. There are afternoon showers, but didn't make it here.
