Anyone encounter a time when you were part of a crew, building a 208 bank, and someone didnt,or forgot,mis-informed,busy on the cell phone, ect didnt cut the transformers 2-wire...what happened there,if you had bad voltage or a fuse blew did anyone remove the lid and catch the mistake,or did you just think the transformer was bad?

You must have read that story I recounted on this board...Years ago. Yup. Been there...seen that. No cell phones back then...just a smart a$sed Lineman.
We were splittin 3, 50 KVA pots on the ground, gettin ready to hang em. I said to the other Lineman..."AC/BD man". He jokinly said, "Right,...It's AB/CD, Ha, ha, ha!".
Well Guess what...that's what He Did. When we threw in the bank, and the one HE had wired AB/CD, was sittin under the Double crossarms, that back in the day, we use to hang the switches and arresters on, under the primary conductor arm.
Blew the whole top off that Can, busted the switch and the arrester on the crossarm above, and the oil ignited a fire on the ground.
It was a sight to behold. Course then the "Fight started" as to who's transformer it was that was wired wrong. We all knew who's it was, so did he, but wouldn't admit to it.
That started the new "safety procedure" of Initialing the transformer you personally Split.
