We will pull over energized conductor up to 35KV, which is classified as distribution in Virginia. I have seen Dominion pull in future 500kv line over top of 115kv. Don't know if they do it higher but haven't seen it done.

I need to leave that out of the conversation TL, sorry. Ive been doing this a long time and dont like the idea. I am being told there are contractors willing to do the work hot. That does not make it safe though. I am the only one in the room with reason. I dont know what I am looking for from you guys but I figured if I threw it out there that the comments would start flying.

I always go with my gut..... If it don't feel safe to me I don't do it.
Others will disagree... But I don't believe being a dead macho man will make my widow less upset. Nobody will get me to do anything " I feel un happy doing".
Survived 33 years in the trade and still got a few more years on the lines ahead.
So if ya feel un comfortable .... Walk away.... !!!!
