notching a v into the brass part

Anybody ever used a grinder and notched a v into the brass end of a telescopic stick...I know that I thought about it several times ,hanging those a/b chance barrels in the wind can drive you nuts...by the way do you hang them fron the front or side.It took some time ,at first I didnt like the design,but somehow got used to them....still preferring the older kerney barrels. I still havent figured out why they put that weild or whatever its called on that part of the brass fitting.gripe,gripe,gripe:D

We haven't had a problem with them, then again, we do the old style 'grasshoppers' or open style fuses with our extendos.
