Here we go again prepping our latest job. 107 poles to dress. Mainly singles this time. ( Only a few H poles) . We are laying them out.... Ready to build. And then the helicopter is coming out in a few weeks to fly them out to position for us.....
DO ya know what the markigs engraved in to the pole mean ????
I DO....... Ha Ha.... Might tell ya latter...... ( Or not ). ;)
We have a line design ... Sso every pole is numberd and dressed for a specific location.

Here in the states it gives you all the info for the pole. The class, the height, what it is treated with and how much, what company made it,the species of the wood, and when it was made. It is at ten feet from the butt until you get to fifty footers ( I think) then it is fourteen feet.
Or in your case Bren it would all be metric. LOL

Partly right....... The top bit of lettering 9.5 mts and its a stout pole.. ( 9.5 s). There are three types. Stout medium and light.....
The line denotes 3mts... "Around 10 ft.. ( We call it "the birth mark". ) So when you walk up to a pole in the ground you can tell exactly how deep its in the ground. :)

We wear the slicks most of the time coz its raining most of the time.. :(
And it rarely gets over 70 degrees in the middle of summer...
The poles we are dressing are so " fresh " recently cresoted ... That it's running out of the poles.Wewear the waterproof trousers to keep it of our clothes ..
We don't have buck squeeze but we are still fully attached at all times . No free climbing anymore..

Reppy, the guys in the UK tend to wear waterproofs made of utility grade Goretex fabric, so they don't get quite as clammy as traditional American heavyweight PVC waterproofs would get.
That said, the Jack-of-all-trades contractors just give their guys the cheapest waterproofs they can find. Hey, who cares, it's not the management who are wearing it.
I tell you what Bren, the guy in the second picture down is either quite short or very ummm... Stout.

More like an XXL by the look of it. Are you being serious? Did he honestly say a medium?
