Whats the average length of a handline,or what should it be in your opinion,Im asking cause ours could be handled from the ground if a guy was on top of a Fifty five....maybe a few at 60,thats pushing it though.....So if its good at 55 and a guy is hurt up on a 65 footer, how do you handle that situation, cause somebody would have lots of answering to do...

Ummmmmmmm a 30 ft handline will easily work a 60 foot pole if ya splice a shoestring( a straight line with 2 eyes innit) tween the hook and the fall line.

A 55 foot pole is only 48 (47.5) feet to the top if it' set right. and a 60 is only 52 feet to the top so if you made your hand line out of 112-115 feet of rope you would have plenty for splices on the ends, and the difference for whatever arm you hung it on.

Now if you have to let someone down you split the line and there will be plenty to let them down.

Are you allowed to use your handline for rescue? We have to have a dedicated synthetic rescue rope readily available.
