OH ! What to do. ?
3 of us traveled Sunday to get back to Scotland. Got to our digs late last night. Up early to be in the yard. Only us three here coz the rest of the crew. "Still drunk from yesterday".

In the same situation I'd meet them with a cold silence when they turned up, and if they made a habit of it then it would adversely affect my choice of crew in the future.

I've been in the situation where other members of a crew were coming in late under the influence of drink, taking drugs on site and then leaving early. Since I had no control over the situation it was ME who moved on.

Being a linesman Clive...part of it is building lines....what makes a good lineman is how we deal with adversity. ... It's about copping with the travel...and dealing with the customers..

Unfortunately it's also about dealing with " days like this "

What can ya do when it's the foreman ,charge hand and digger driver that's AWOL?..

We can't dress the poles without the digger lifting them,we aren't supposed to start work without instruction from the foreman,, etc...

So what we did was...... Layed out all the gear next to the poles.... Sorted all the new stuff that was delivered to site... Had a long lunch....and went home early... :)
We are a team soooooooo we covered for them today.... And hopefully they will get our backs at another time.... And it's good to be owed a favour by your foreman. Never know when ya might need help in the future..
