It looks like OSHA will mandate it in the next few years I've heard a lot of companies are requiring a pole choking device whether that is the supersqueeze or cynch lok or jelco...

ESB use a pole choker has been in use since 01 and on the towers we use clickers
will take some photos when im not feeling so lazy

I was helping out a BT openreach (telco) engineer the other day as he was struggling to get a dropwire through some trees. Even they have chokers as well as a pole strap these days. (and their poles have steps up them :) )

Centerpoint, North Houston, and LE Myers all use wood fall protection. I personally use the bucksqueeze by Buckingham.

All first energy, started with bucksqueeze now only use jelco
