On Friday crew changed 3 Ø 4/0 pole, because someone hit it and it was split. Not a emergency. They changed it out at 2:30 pm. Foreman that changed it out was on call, gets a call at 10:30 pm. Trailer comes unhooked, hits the same pole. Changed it out, same pole 2 times in 1 day. Bob

Ummmmmmm bleve it or not I have changed out the same pole 4 times in one week. It was located in a curve and seemed to be a magnet for wayward vechicles. I can recall this happening with 2 poles, both trunk feeders one located in a curve the other had underhungs and was in the line of traffic coming out frum an underpass.
Anybody remember " Mod Poles"? it was basically a cement stub with a sleeve at the top and when the butt of the broken pole was placed in the sleeve a grout was poured innit holding everything in place. Not at all forgiving to the next vehicle that hit it.

Ummmmm I always wondered what kinda joker came up with that kinda idea?Seemed at the time to be a hazzard to the driviing public to me. I remember one job where we used em to raise a transmission line out in the middle of nowhere. to climb one ya hadda have a ladder to get past the cement, Not at all handy in the marsh.

Was the pole located on a curve,a freeway exit/highway exit,or a T in the road?

No, it was by blacktop road, outside of town a little. The guy that hit was going home from the sale barn.

Seen that with the cca poles, same pole, same day.Another one I saw was an 18 wheeler get destroyed by an old hard pole,it was so old that there was no cresote. The drivers body somehow was found between the drivers side front tire and the engine, what made this worse was that somebody that knew the driver and his family took off down the street and notified the family. So his parents appear at the scene of the accident while the body is still there. This makes the State Trooper very upset as it should have.
