What does everyone have to do to get a recloser turned off when needed after hours? I know the bigger companies have 24 hr. dispachers but what about the smaller guys, do you do it yourself, or do you have your own laptop to do it? Just trying to make it easier for us and wondered what everyone else does.

Maybe Im not following you correctly,why would you want it off after hours...and dont you guys have bypass switches for that?

if you are on a service call and you need to do some hot work and need the line put on one shot at the sub or control room when the control room isnt maned.

I see now,our service board or control room is always manned...24/7....365 a year..just like the lineman.

ummmmmmmm we usta just make a trip by the sub get a switching order and place the breaker on one shot n when we wuz done go back by n put it back to normal

Ummmmmmmmm lemme go over that agin............. after hours kinda implies dark, n we hadda rule that if a man wuz in the zone he needed a qualified man on the ground watchin. so we didnt fool wif hot stuff after hours by ourselves.We would call fera crew n if we thunk they needed it we wud do whatever to get em a hold. Sometimes we would stick around to help n when we wuz done go back to the sub n puther back to normal. But mosta the time the line wuz out already kause we dint do NO routine maintenace after hours unless the world wuzz gonna come to an end if we dint
