Utility workers pelted with eggs

Ok,there should be some good responces to this one.Utility workers were pelted with eggs and other objects as they tried to restore power after the mayor claimed the local power company (SHORTCHANGED) the states largest city.This happened in Bridgeport,Conn.United Illuminating pulled their workers out until the city agreed to provide protection.The company denied giving priority to wealthy customers while ignoring Bridgeport residents.Seems like lots of poorer folks are mad at being last.The city has agreed to provide police protection.

I had a case years ago , where we had a transformer fail in a vault at a highrise apartment building. We went in checked it out , took an oil sample that field tested positive. Following company policy we sent the sample to a 24 hour lab for testing and stood by. the rain we got was beer bottles. We backed away and made it known that nothing would be done as long as that kinda crap was happening, magically it stopped. We got the sample results in an hour , and the power back on shortly after that

Ummmm i keep seeing this compared to katrina but its not..... the weather is the main diffrence they can build a fire to stay warm but if they were suffering from 90 degree heat ittza different story.
who ever is in charge of crisis management has dropped the ball big time there is fuel for the utility vehicles but none for gensets umm sumpin bout that aint rite most of those affected are of a priveledged class ( monied) and they have the ears of politicians n govt I spect there will be a huge backlash over this lack of planning and some heads may roll UMmm alot of whats goin on are is caused by ignorance of the few that are in charge of anythingLIKE tolls or fuel. dont think we are doing so hot in the aftermath of this crisis .We need to be helping one another not caUSING FURTHER DELAYS Its evident that they need a lineman to co ordinate this effort and not a degreed suit

Your right in a way Poot,about the temps....the way I see it ....Katrina was a black storm.....Sandy is the white Katrina...lots of people didnt think it would be this bad....I think the northern folks cry louder.....lets see in two or three more days.

Wasting eggs when yer almost out of food is plain dumb if ya ask me. Besides as already stated, if ya want power let them do what they do and don't hold them up!

people get crazy pretty fast, especially up that way.:eek:
