Old insulators

Removed these from a 4kv circuit a few weeks ago, have googled them already, looking for more info, any value?

Youtube might have info on insulators..theres lots of things you can build with some of them,birdfeeders,ect some you can drill holes in...that is if you have the right bits..good luck.Some old glass types can go for thousands...

if they were glass insulators i could tell you exactly what theyd be worth...........but i can tell you those are "hewlett disks" and were the first suspension/ deadend insulators developed first for use on a tower line in MI for consumers energy before they came out with the metal cap and pin suspensions......as for value not sure, are the the smaller 6" dia or so or the larger ones?

Judgin by his thumb in the picture Brian, I'd say they are the 6" ones.

I took down some of these years ago, and was stupid enough to throw them away.....

Ebay is used by collectors to find the rarest things, so it might be a good place to research them. Just type in the brand name and see what comes up. The "completed listings" option will show the value they went for if any sold recently.

There's certainly no harm in trying one on ebay, since it appears that some people do collect insulators as a hobby, or for their decorative value.
