What type of lock do you use for your pole top switches/urd transformers/substation gates,ect....here we call them wb locks..found some in flordia also, but had a different type of key....The old sergeant locks are still around but thats if you get lucky.I found that some places take their sweet time in giving contractors keys to the locks, but you do get them.

Fargo locks that you ring the nut off with a nut driver and you cut them off with a pair of 12" bolt cutters or if your young and don't have carpal tunnel yet you cut them off with a pair of klein's and on something that we open often or have to operate regularly we use a padlock made by Hercules, we call them system locks.

Substations and switches we use Best locks. Non vital areas we use keyed ringlocks. Peds and padmounts one shot ringlocks.

Ummmm we had 2 kinds of locks both made by wb brass locks one small we called s meter lock and a large one we called a substation lock required diferent keys meter locks were used on alll locks other than a substation like a gate or padmount occasionally I would find one on a switchOnce after a major storm I came across an identical wb lock on a substation gate and it had ap&l monogramed onnit but my key would not open it.I bleve WB makes those locks for many utilities or companies because Huntsman corp also had wb locks that were keyed differently even though they were identical in size and looks

Actually don't know what the actual name of the the "Lock" on URD transformers, Switches, and substation gates is. We just called them "Comapany" Locks. I'm a Contractor, remember.....
But it is Round, has a universal Key, so everybody in the company, or associated with the company can access the property.
I'll take a picture of the one on the transformer outside my house...if nobody understands what I'm talkin about.

We also had WB locks, we had Yale locks, and on ground switches we had combination locks, that you could only remove under orders, they would give you the combo to open it.
