Just wanted to know if anyone still has livefronts being used as switching trans. on urd loops...we used to have no shortage of those in this area.Maybe transformers with blades used as the switching pot?...LNF?

several years before I left we decided to do away with al livefront transformers
We still have plenty of live fronts in our system, 12 kv and down. We still switch in them, but we can't drop load in them and when breaking parallel the stations have to be fed by the same voltage. I would love to see them all gone, but that won't happen in my time.

I used to love it when being sent to the switching trans...finding out it was a livefront....then finding a deadfront to switch out the switching pot before working in that one....and finally going back to the deadfront and energizing it back towards the livefront:D

We have a few left in the field, 12.5 kv. We don't switch in them anymore.....

We still have a few some cartridge or box type and some with re-settable doors, we still switch in them or try:D you might say, no hands on work inside of them while they are energized, I seen a lizard get across one of the porcelain arresters on one we had open and when it got finished there wasn't much left, glad we weren't directly in front of it when it happened, these days when we run into one we write up a work order to get it changed out.
