Last chance saloon
Well that's it.
Ive turned down probably my last chance to work on the lines 🙈
Ive been offered a job with a good company on good money.... But not enough to tempt me back.
Working for a telecoms company at present. I work all over Ireland " which is nice" still climbing masts daily etc.
The overhead line company have the contract to refurbish a line ( which I was involved in the original building of as an apprentice ) F..k I'm getting old when that's happening .. 😱
Anyway it would of ment being away from my wife and dog all week ( I'd miss the dog terribly 🐾🐾) . So I turned it down.
It was a lovely transmission job. Changing the rotten pylon steel first, then insulator changing , then re spacering.
The type of work I love.
So although I was offered nearly a third more money than I'm on now I decided I've worked away for toooooooooooo many years . So the last chance salon has closed its doors. But at least I chose to close them rather than them being closed for me. 👍👍👍

Well Bren, as a fellow lineman that’s done lots of travelling, I think you made the right choice. Given the chance I would do the same thing. Yeah I know the work is great, but being home means so much more, especially for us older fellas . Good luck to ya! Rob
