    T2

I haven't done alot of transmission work but I don't think I've ever heard or seen t2 wire before from the pictures y'all posted it looks pretty damn big and heavy. Does t2 have a diameter size to...

    Distribution hoist

I think this design is to be used on distribution wire not transmission. We dont use the same hoists for transmission,we use chain hoists. We don't use any kind of web hoists on transmission ever.

    Cool design

I think your idea has alot of potential. It looks like it would work great in alot of scenarios. We "A" frame alot and your idea looks like it would be easier than two sets of cadillacs. We don't...

I'm in Georgia. It doesn't get as cold here but we check our AED's monthly and I haven't had any issues. We've had them four or five years now at least. I've been out of town on alot of winter storms...

    Aed

One of the best ideas our company has had is putting AED's on all our bucket trucks and all our headquarters buildings. I hope I never need one but it's nice to know it's there. I think I heard they...

    Pole lariat

I finally got to use my pole lariat in a working situation after the tornado that hit trenton ga. It was great! I felt better climbing in it than I would have free climbing and a thousand times...

    Suck squeeze

It really is a shame that we had to go to this 100 percent fall arrest. When I was an app you had to learn to climb and work out of your hooks, especially where I was. Everybody could climb and we...

    Jumping the gun on safety

Our company got way out in front on the fall restraint bandwagon, like three years out in front. They had a group of linemen go to our training school to " help decide" which belt we would use....

    Wescos

I have a pair of red wings that I wear everyday for bucket work but when I climb I pull out my 9 yr old wescos. The redwings are nowhere near the wescos for climbing. The shank doesn't seem as solid....

    Buck squeeze goodbye!

I got to try out the pole lariat today and I like it a hell of alot more than the buck squeeze. It climbs really well. It's still not free climbing but it's about as close as I've seen so far. It...

    Grips

We use small grips for small wire like the top two in the picture someone posted. Ours are kleins. As far as putting a heavy Mac on no.6 we never do that we use no. 6 polywire with two hotline...

    Tracking over

We use fiberglass arms on everything except deadends and we are getting some fiberglass buckarms to start using. We don't have the dust problems y'all have in Texas but maybe the fiberglass arms...

    UD trouble

We use fault indicators on the incoming cable in the tranx. They work well if they are reset after the trouble is isolated. Where I am it's very common for a troubleman to switch and isolate the...

    Bucksqueeze

The device he was using was not a modified bucksqueeze. The accident report hasn't been passed out yet so we don't know what happened. We only use the bucksqueeze on distribution poles. It won't fit...

    Ga power lineman

We lost a lineman today after a fall from a transmission structure. I don't have any details yet but I will try and post some when I get them. He was 21 years old. Say a prayer for his family. Please...
