Hey guys, Ive always been interested in becoming a linesmen, and now that Im 28, I feel like if I dont go for it now, I will always regret it. I am currently an journeyman service plumber in Vancouver BC. I hold a gas ticket and a red seal ticket in plumbing. I also have my airbrakes endorsement, and working on getting my class 3.
Ive made a profile on the BC Hydro website, and I am checking everyday for job postings.
Can anybody give me anymore advice on the best way to peruse this trade in BC? Thanks in advance.

Apply for any Trades Trainee postings, which is a pre-apprentice position. From there you work in that position and will attend a boot camp, and if you're successful you will be offered an apprenticeship.

Having your class 3 helps a lot and you will need English, Math, and Physics 12 in order to work for BC Hydro.

What about a contractor? Lots of work in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan right now with BC based contractors like Allteck and Rokstad.
