Open for discussion. Any apprentice can replace hot dead ends and insulators in a straight line. How to the old pros replace hot insulators on angle poles? Jibs? Hoists?
Before we had bucket trucks with jibs, I used to drive a screwdriver at insulator height on the back side of the pole run a Lug-All hot hoist around the back of the pole let it out, put a grip on each side and jack it up till I had a bubble or some slack then I would change out the insulator, did the same thing for wrapping armor rods and laying up new conductor out of rollers on hard angles.
