    Default Try This

Australia and New Zealand is looking for hands. Easy for a Canuk to get permits. Ask one of the Downunders on this site for info or get hold of the Oz or NZ electrical union halls.

Try ARAMCO for Saudi Arabia if you want Middle East or Umm Al Jawaby Oil for Libya ( http://www.jawaby.co.uk/ )

Try Amicus, the electrical union in the UK. They used to honour IBEW memberships They can also probably fill you in on Ireland, as well
    ( http://www.amicustheunion.org/ )

Also try any of the electrical boards in the UK (North Scotland Hydro office used to be in Perth, Scotland. The Greater London , LEB, is another) Balfour Beatty used to be a biggy contractor http://www.balfourbeatty.com/bbeatty/

If you are a splicer as well your chances are better than being just an overhead hand. If you can do industrial electrician work combined with splicing and OH, the world is your oyster. I made good money as a splicer (all plastic) in England and Scotland and they, as everyone else are looking for experienced hands, willing to be flexible enough to pick up on their way of doing things, quickly.

You don’t mention which Province you’re from. If you are near an international airport like Vancouver, Calgary or Pearson try and get UK papers on the days “Appointments” are posted. The Sun, Express or Times are good ones.

Try Acres International in Niagra http://www.hatchacres.com/

Join Ex-pats sites, some cost, they are full of info.

    Try this site

That’s a start for you. With the price of oil now is a good time to be looking.

If that takes you no where, contact me for some more ideas.

    Good Luck

There is always plenty of work for linemen in the UK. Eastern Utility Services Ltd are always looking for Class 2 Glove men. They pay in the region of £700 (about $1400CDN) per week, plus allowances etc. I have worked for them for 18mnths and am leaving next month to move to Canada!!! Drop me an email if you want any more info.
