Hello,
I have a buckingham trufit harness with an 18 inch pigtail, and a buckingham Buckohm Buckyard stretch with dielectric snaps lanyard. The lanyard tag reads length of 4.5ft, and a design elongation of 4ft, and it says maximum deployment distance 4ft.
If the lanyard is 4.5ft, and the pigtail is 1.5ft that gives me a maximum free fall of 6ft correct? What is throwing me off is the design elongation and maximum deployment is this saying that it will decelerate and stretch another 4ft? Isn't the allowed deceleration distance only 3.5ft?
Thanks
Your lanyard has a maximum deployment distance of 4 feet, meaning it will begin to arrest a fall after a 4-foot fall distance. The design elongation of 4 feet refers to the lanyard's ability to stretch before reaching its maximum elongation. To calculate the allowed deceleration distance, add the length of the lanyard and the harness together. Follow all manufacturer instructions and guidelines, and inspect and maintain your equipment before use.
