LostArt is right, if we thought we were all equal there would be no need to distinguish! Al Sharpton is one of the most obnoxious people in the world, he does more to further the cause of racism than anyone I know, by constantly blatantly pointing out the difference of color in people. When he spoke of Michael Jackson...it was he was one of the greatest "black" entertainers in the world, not just one of the greatest entertainers. As long as people keep drawing a line in the sand...........the distain will remain....and I would not hesitate to tell him that I think he is a racist a$$hole to his face. Racism or prejudice by blacks towards whites because of their skin color is just as despicable as white against black. It cuts both ways. As "Eve" said, no one gets a free ride..............

I just wonder..... if President Obama had a black father and a white mother, but had more of his mother's physical traits(and never mentioned his heritage) if we would have had all the watermelon and "black house" jokes circulating as soon as the man was elected.............would the term "oreo" still rjust refer to my favorite cookie?......tell me there werent many out there who had a problem with the color of his skin, before he ever did a thing.

Because you implied that being white might be a crime one day. In my experience, guys who say that kind of stuff usually dont like black people. Then its all the "they have BET why cant we have a channel?" stuff, start one up man, american TV has been geared towards certain demographics since day one. Why is there no "white TV?" because 90% of TV is already geared towards all races including white people. Blacks have a niche market and they use it to sell adds. Thats called good business sense. Just slow down and think a little.

If im wrong, I apologize. But if im right, and you really don't care for black people, than come out and say it. Stand up for what you believe. I think we all respect honesty.

Mega 81 I judge people by what I see out of them not what flavor they are, but I also call it like I see it and yes I know perception is usually people's reality, if I see 10 guys setting on the porch drinking beer and smoking talking about how someone has held them back, I don't buy it, white or black or spanish, anybody that want's something wont let themselve's be held back and give excuse after excuse, and believe me I am not saying that I am not a little bit biased, I believe most of us are in some way shape or form, but I don't hate all people from any race, I see the dope head white kids out on the streets just like the black ones and I am ashamed that they are from the white race. Returntotheeve I had to laugh about what your grandma said, lotta truth in that analogy, and I was using Imus as an example not necessarily defending him as I don't know what all he has said in the past because I had never heard of him prior to that big scandal a year or so ago.

I actually believe, down the road.....50-100 years or more from now "Race" will really be an insignificant thing. We will all be just an intermingled Race of people.

I see it everywhere nowdays. Black and hispanic, black and white, black and asian, white and asian, white and Indian, white and arab, and I think it's a good thing. We are progressing to truly an intermingled Race of people. It's just gonna take many many years, but it will happen.

Back when I was growin up as an Air Force Brat, it was Very common. Inter racial marriages. Black and white, white and asian, black and asian, and being in the Air Force, or the Army or any other branch of the service, it was completely accepted. Not so much outside the military bases though.

Saw alot of prejudice toward mixed marriages when Air Force couples would go out to dinner or go shopping in towns outside the bases. My parents had some dear friends that were a black and asian married couple. I remember going out to dinner one evening with them and their son. It was just scary how the whole resturant just got quiet, and the stares all evening long. This was back in about 64.

Nowdays, it's not even given a second thought. So, as I keep tellin ya....for me, it ain't about "Race". Believe me or not.

And as far as barry.....once again, it's about his POLITICAL Direction for me. And because I can't stand his political direction, people call me a racist. Well....THAT is BULLSHIT.

And what's more.....I can't STAND NANCY and HARRY a HELL of alot more than barry.

No. It ain't about Race. It's about people who want to make it about race. And....it ain't workin.

However you try to present yourself today, we can only go on how you've presented yourself in the past.... such as the whole cause of the OREO thread, The denying of the OREO thread, the comparative between NOLA and Iowa floods and whats the difference, the 'boy' term, the Star JONES/PARKER thread and still unanswered question of why even post a picture to go along with it when there never been a picture accompanying any other articles, the TWICE posted clip of Capt Kirk shooting the 'black' mugger, it probably goes on but these are just a few I recall.

Anyone remember any others?

So when you say its not about race, you may be right. Its just really hard to believe it's not about race with you.

Is you're beef that Barack was raised by a 'white' woman in a 'white' household so therefor he's not really 'black'. You really need to clarify and go beyond just saying "He's only half-black." Whats your conflict with him being labeled as black?
