Liberals only use sticks, conservatives are up there gloving it off the pole.
How in hell can you "twist" linework into liberal or conservative? M'Lord.
Swamprat - Seriously? "Stick" #6 Copper? In Alaska, I'm sure, the amperage ain't that much. What's up with that? What voltage ya talkin? 4160? Or 2400 delta?
You Union?

We're talking 7200 & 14,400, wye. Some of the cwc wire has been in service since the 40's. Converted a #6 cwc circuit in Anchorage from O/H to U/G and found a 1949 crossarm with 1954 insulators and wood pins attached. In the rural areas we have long 6A and 8A single phase circuits to feed just a few and the farther out (from the substation) we might bump'r to 14,400. The cwc wire is strong enough and durable enough to take alot of abuse in our conditions. #4 acsr wouldn't cut it in rural Alaska. I understand some our Bush villages are still at 4160v. Alaska State law prohibits rubbergloving anything over 5k volts and we like it that way. And yes I am. 28 years
How about no live line work off of the pole and no rubber gloving after dark? Hydro one rules. PUC's in Ontario still allow rubber glove off the pole under 5kv. Restricted wire 6 solid copper, will break rather easily. 4 acsr. 4 special and smaller. Thats 3-12 to some of you Americans
