Submitted By - HE KISSES HER BYE AS HE GOES OUT THE DOOR,
ANOTHER WEEK SHE MUST ENDURE.
HE BUILDS POWER LINE'S AND WORKS AWAY,
SHE STAYS HOME THEY HAVE KIDS TO RAISE.

THERE'S A HOLE IN HER HEART WHEN HE IS GONE.
THE WONDER THE WORRY IS ANYTHING WRONG?
HE CALLS TO CHAT A FEW TIMES A DAY. T
HATS GOOD AT LEAST SHE KNOWS HE'S O.K..

SHE GOES TO KIDS FUNCTIONS ALONE ALL THE TIME,
SHE KNOWS HE WOULD IF HE HAD THE TIME.
THIS JOB COMES BEFORE HIS FAMILY,
PEOPLE NEED ELECTRICITY.

SHE KNOWS IN HER HEART IT'S HIS FIRST LOVE,
SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN SECOND TO THE WORK THAT HE DOES.
BUT SHE WAITS PATIENTLY FOR HIS SAFE RETURN.
SOME WIVES DON'T GET THAT. A HARD THING I HAVE LEARNED.

THE YEARS OF WORRY THE NIGHTS ALONE,
KIDS THOUGHT DADDY WAS A TELEPHONE.
LONG STORMY NIGHTS WE HAVE SPENT IN THE DARK,
THROUGH TORNADO'S AND HURRICANES WE HAVE SEEN IT ALL.
AND WORRY ALONE CAUSE HE'S ON CALL. DEVOTED LINEMAN ARE HARD TO FIND.

RISK THEIR LIVES WHILE WORKING THE LINE.
LEAVING FAMILY AT HOME WE KNOW YOU LOVE
SO... IT'S A ROUGH LIFE.... BELIEVE ME I KNOW. (JANE)
