“Here comes the Safety Guy” I hear them say,

Look’s like misery is on the way…

I teach, I preach and often pray,

So that all my lineman will be safe today…

My spirit is lifted when they joke and chide,

My thoughts of them are kept inside…

I care for each one, dare I say,

I would never want harm to come their way…

So when you see me, please don’t hide,

Be so grateful, safety is on your side.

Some people laugh, and some cannot see,

Though I am the safety guy, I am still, me…

You go home at night to your families,

My prayers have been answered, I feel at ease….

I go away, but don’t forget,

That my job of caring is not over yet…

For a week a month, I come to see,

If safety is a priority…

If it’s not, then you might find,

That unsafe acts are so unkind…
