My husband heads to work around 4 am this morning. Quiet as a mouse I never know he is gone. What bothered me the most was not telling him I love him before he closed the door. The phone call comes in around 9 am "Make sure all my clothes are washed and ready to go. We're headed out to Ohio." I start packing his clothes hiding the tears from our daughter's eyes. They are saying a month maybe this time. He pulls the bucket truck into the drive. We got to hurry they are waiting. We get all his stuff ready to go. I hug him and hold him, wish he didn't have to go. My husband is a hero as every lineman is. I am proud of him. I pray for him and the rest of the men. Be safe don't let the exhaustion set in. People don't realize exactly what they do. They are risking there life just for you. Now it's 2:30am and I haven't heard from him. It is hard for a wife to sleep while they are gone, yet we are strong. We handle the business and keep the home fire burning. We say our prayers through out the day. Please keep him safe and bring him home to us soon. I am thankful atleast it isn't Christmas without him this time. This is the life of a lineman's wife. I am so very proud  to be married to a lineman! Good night to my husband where ever you are. I hope you get much needed sleep to be prepared for the long day ahead of you. Even though your not here to curl up to I still got your pillow and the scent will do! I love you. Our daughter knows you will be coming home soon and she will be curled up next to me dreaming of you!
