A lineman on my crew direct connected a gap type arrestor which someone removed the slide off of it.We are in the process of switching the load off of old line on to new. When he went to transfer the transformer over to the new line he unwisely but luckily put the stinger on with his gloves he got a small flash but was above the exploding arrestor Never Ever direct connect a gap arrestor.
