Me and my crew chief were dispatched to a report of porcelain laying on a consumers lawn lightning must have hit this pole because there was two broken standoff insulators on a stacked corner c4 my crew chief called into dispatch to put the circuit on one shot than I went up to start changing the first insulator it was a post type insulator strapped to a 3/4 inch machine bolt I had a rubber blanket over the guy wires covering up the known ground potentials I work for an rea so they like to run ground wires to the very top of poles so anyway while I was changing the second insulator she arced on me and I ended up with second degree burns on my face the next day another crew showed up to investigate the accident they found a pole ground underneath the washer on the backside of the pole that on the bolt that was strapped to the insulator I was working on by the way I did ask for a split blanket but my crew chief does not carry them on his truck but I also think wet conditions may have contributed my rubber glove liners were wet which is what I believe may have made contact with the back side of insulator while I was tying the jumper in place
