115k Induction

I was a member of a 7 man crew once. I did not witness this accident as my polebuddy and I were doing something else. Here!s what happened. The rest of the crew was assigned to remove a wave trap from a 115kv line. This line was built in the same right of way to an identical line and so carried a great induction hazard. The line was cleared properly but these guys decided they would work it from the barehand bucket as if it were hot and so wouldn't  have to bother with grounding it. This would have been fine except the injured man didn't  mechanical out the wave trap and removed the strap on the trap and put himself in series with several miles of 115kv that knocked him cold. After he was revived and taken to the hospital. he was pronounced okay except for blisters on his hands. We get lucky sometimes.
