Dear Brothers, Last Sat. Jan.12 we had a bad 3 phase flash. The linemen were transferring a 3 phase pole with a 3 phase lateral. The job was almost complete with only the last tap to install, when one of the linemen put the tap on the wrong phase. A 13.8 flash occurred and other than being a little scared and shook up both linemen came out of it fine. I attribute this to the fact that they were wearing all of their safety equipment. Their fire retardant clothing was scorched but did its job. Their rubber sleeves and gloves were melted as well as one of their hard hats. Their harnesses didn't show any signs of burning and I know that was always a concern of some of our peers. I guess what I'm saying is even if you make a foolish mistake like we did, wear the gear 'cause it could make the difference. Thanks stay safe!
