Ok. Gas and Electric had a man severely injured last week. He was a 19 yr employee and was a serviceman who climbed a pole on a trouble call and made primary contact and fell 25 ft to the ground. A bystander witnessed the accident and called an ambulance. He is in critical condition and I think he may have been hurt worse by the fall than the burn. However I really don't have many particulars although one person told me that he thought he might have been working on a split bank.
I also heard through the grapevine that RSI had two men killed within 30 minutes of each other. Don't know in what state although one was supposed to be putting on the Kelly bar prior to screwing in an anchor and the operator touched the boom to the primary. The other incident was similar but the victim was attaching a ground to the truck when the operator also got the boom into the primary. If anyone out there could shed a little light on this it would be appreciated. Okie Lineman.

The man killed from RSI in Florida was a groundman. The crew was pulling poles after rebuilding a poleline using the line truck to remove the old poles, the operater said the boom jumped 4-6 feet and into the overhead the groundman had no gloves on while in contact with the pole.Word has it the groundman had asked to be removed from the crew because of unsafe work practice and the foreman said take it or leave it,always remember safety is your responsibilty work safe and live
