Tim lost his battle with cancer on Feb 11, 2006 and he's missed by all. Please post this as a tribute to one hell of a Lineman, Family man, Father, and Friend.
ODE TO TIM
In Loving Memory
December 17, 1951 – February 11, 2006
As the sun sets and the light of day grows dim,
Belted off on an A5 is a weathered lineman named Tim.
He’s a top foreman for Red Rock, making sure each connection is tight,
Taking pride in his job, knowing that it’s been done right.
Keeping and eye on a distant storm, he leans his body into the breeze
and climbs down the pole with earned confidence and ease.
His climb is now over ‘cause of a trouble he couldn’t repair,
but he will remain in our hearts, as a so called “gruff man”
who really did care.
Tim Carlson was the best of the best in the rugged life he chose,
and how many miles of power line he built, no one really knows.
But he schooled many apprentices on the skills of the trade,
and earned respect which will never fade.
So long, my friend, may your journey be good.
Keep those lights on in heaven as only you could.
