His first loves were his wife and daughter whom he spent most of his waking hours working to make happy. Over the years, John was an avid hunter; he loved traveling and with the job he had great opportunity to do so. John loved West Virginia as his home state and would lay on the horn every time he crossed the state line. He was a big Mountaineer football fan and they were # 1 if they won or loss and he held season tickets and hated to miss a single game.In 1992, John joined the IBEW Local 317 out of Huntington WV and started a four year apprentice program in Ohio. In 1996, he became a Journeyman Lineman and worked his way up to Foreman, General Foreman, and Superintendent. Working with several companies through the union, he worked for L.E. Myers, Hinkle and McCoy, Richard and Waylon and his last job was with Hawkeye. In 1998 he worked in Canada after a huge ice storm hit for weeks. John has worked in the Wilderness in Alaska, worked with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina that hit and also Hurricane Ike. He even was foreman during the installation of the Wind Farm in Thomas, WV.
We are all going to miss you brother....I know you will be with us and guiding us on the next hurricane........There is not a day that goes by that I don't hear your voice telling me to "Tighten Up!"
