On 12-29-00 I and a fellow lineman and a hot ape, were called to a car hit a xfmr pole.
We tooled up and gathered up a pole and xfmr and headed to the location. When we got there the pole had been hit by a foreign made car and had broke the
pole at ground level clean, the car had it so hard it sent the pole butt up and under the soffit of a garage and lifted the garage roof up and landed on the wall of the garage, between the roof and wall, the bushings on the 1930
xfmr held onto the wire but the porcelain around them broke and caused a oil leak, the pole top was 5ft off the ground, the primary and secondary also remained to be hot. It was something I hadn't seen, the driver of the car
walked away! No matter how many trouble calls you go on ,you haven't seen it all.
