“WE’RE LEAVING TOMORROW“, HE TELLS HIS WIFE
WE’LL PACK UP THE TRAILER, WE’VE ADAPTED TO THIS LIFE.
SHE MAKES A FEW CALLS, AND PREPARES FOR THE ROAD
MEANWHILE HER HUSBAND, TIES DOWN THE LOAD.
THE KIDS ARE EXCITED, TO GO SOMEWHERE NEW
TO STAY IN ONE PLACE IS HARD FOR THEM TOO.
A FEW DAYS ON THE ROAD, A COUPLE STOPS IN BETWEEN,
THE FINAL DESTINATION IS ONE THEY HAVEN’T SEEN.
WHEN THEY GET TO THE HALL, HE GOES IN TO SIGN THE BOOKS
“ONE CALL FOR A LINEMAN, MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR HOOKS.”
SETTLING IN AT A NEW RV PARK,
THEY PUT THE KIDS TO BED, IT IS GETTING DARK.
AS THEY RECOVER, FROM THEIR TIME ON THE GO,
THEY ARE HAPPY TO BE PARKED, NO LONGER IN TOW.
BACK TO WORK AS USUAL, THE VERY NEXT DAY
THIS IS A TRAMPS LIFE, “COME WHATEVER MAY”
HIS WIFE WILL BE PRAYING, FOR HIS SAFETY AND RETURN,
MEANWHILE SHE HAS CHORES TO DO, AND CHILDREN TO HELP LEARN.
AND WHEN THE DAY IS FINISHED, HE MIGHT DRINK A COUPLE BUD’S
BUT THEN HE COMES STRAIGHT HOME, TO THE FAMILY THAT HE LOVES
SO FEW CAN RELATE TO THESE CONSTRUCTION HANDS
THE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, WHO NEVER MAKE PLANS
WE LIVE DAY TO DAY, NOT KNOWING WHAT’S TO COME
LIVING EVERY MOMENT, THEY WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE.
