Awakened by the phone
Then a pause
His tired voice grumbles
With a gruff a response
Not a single light
Instead the sound of clothes and a belt
Then a quiet squeak of the stairs
Change rattling
The lock on the door
A roaring engine pulls away
Into the silenced hush of the night
A startling light
And the crashing of thunder
Outside my window
But he still goes
With bravery and strength
He gets up
His exhausted body shivering
In the cold wind
Putting everybody before himself
He leaves
This takes,
Love, concern and dedication
You have to be a husband,
A father
And a LINEMAN
And that he is and more!!!
