I say a special prayer for you

Because I don't know what else to do.

I know you have duties to meet

And you'll go through rain, snow, and sleet.

Remain solid I always pray

And someday, could you come back this way.

I sometimes wish I could be there

To let you know I really care

I say a special prayer for you

Because there's no other job you'd do.

If you died, it would be too real.

I would die inside, I'd never heal.

O God, watch over him everywhere

Because one of us has to be there.

I just wish you were here with me,

But I understand that can't be.
