"PROUD LINEMAN"
HE GETS THE CALL-WIRES DOWN
THE LIGHTS ARE OUT ALL OVER TOWN
HE GETS DRESSED WITH BOOTS TIED TIGHT
HE KNOWS ITS GOING TO BE A DANGEROUS NIGHT
THROUGH SNOW AND RAIN, SLEET AND ICE
MOTHER NATURE WONT BE NICE
THROUGH THE SUMMER HEAT IT GETS REAL HOT
AT THE TOP OF POLES HE TIES HIS KNOTS
HE CUTS THE TREES WITH CAREFUL THOUGHT
HE PULLS THE WIRE NICE AND TAUGHT
HE POPS THE SLEEVES 1-2-3
THE PHASES ARE UP A-B-C
CLOSES FUSES AT THE END OF A STICK
THE LIGHTS ARE ON LICKETY- SPLIT
HE CLIMBS ON DOWN-PUTS TOOLS AWAY
HE'S GLAD TONIGHT HE'S STILL OK
HE'S DONE HIS JOB- REAL NICE DEED
HE'LL HEAD FOR HOME AND GET SOME SLEEP
HIS FAMILY GREETS HIM WITH A GREAT BIG SMILE
GLAD HE'LL BE HOME FOR A LITTLE WHILE
PEOPLE KNOW THEY CAN COUNT ON YOU
SO BE PROUD OF THE WORK YOU DO
